For now I fixed it by deleting the most current version of the plugin and installing one version back.
In another post somebody mentions the same thing, and hopefully will be fixed in the next version. 3.9.1

I thought I was going crazy.
I’m having the same problem. I think it was working before but now not sure.
I also have a couple of required drop down menus with the include blank option.
