In reply to: myPHPAdmin and MAMP issuesHi there!
Thanks for the answers; looks as it’ll help others. In the end, I ended up going for broke straight to my hosted site, and thankfully things held together nicely.
I’ll surely save the info given, as I may switch up the theme again at some stage.
Thanks again!

In reply to: Edit Entry Meta InformationHey thanks for that! I will play around with it and find out if I need it.
I actually, for now, have just took out all but the post date, and that might be sufficient since I’m the only author. I will return to this and find out if it fits, but I do appreciate your taking the time to solve this for me.
Thanks much”!

In reply to: Edit Entry Meta InformationHey alchymyth:
Thanks a lot for that! I copied the code into functions.php within my child theme, then took out categories and swapped things around so that my name and the date would appear in order. So far, it works great. The only thing I’m having trouble with now is to try and add text to make it like “Posted by <author> on <date>. I tried several variations of using the PHP echo command to add “Posted by ” and “on ” in, but the page ends up blank each time.
I tried the convention:
`<?php echo ‘text ‘ ; ?>’
That didn’t work for me.
What say you?

In reply to: [r2d2] Category Description MarginsHey RD:
Thanks again; tried out your suggestion, and that seems to have done the trick! Now the archive paragraph is just about flush with the left side, so looking good!Last question that I have, and it has to do with the custom CSS. I have already added some custom CSS items to the style.css file in the theme. If I read you correctly, you are suggesting to take all of my custom styles to Jetpack so that when the theme gets updated, the custom styles won’t be overwritten. Is that right?
Have a good one!

In reply to: [r2d2] Category Description MarginsThanks for the reply, Robert.
I have just installed Jetpack per your recommendtaion, but will deal with how to make use of the custom css, etc., later on.
Once that’s done, I’ll give your suggestion a try. Will get back to you.
All the best,

In reply to: [r2d2] Thanks Questions – Page and Category TitlesWhoops! Needed to change this to resolved. 🙂

In reply to: [r2d2] Thanks Questions – Page and Category TitlesWell no worries; I’ve managed to get both items sorted.
I still have some tweaking to do, but the site looks good enough to keep live.
Thanks again for the theme; it’s awesome!

In reply to: Fixing My WordPress Site…Need Some Advice ( PowerPress Tips)Hello Terry:
Thanks for the reply. Apologies for the delay; I had to sit this on the back burner, and now I plan on working on the site during the weekend and into next week.I have already downloaded the entire site onto my computer, so I think your idea of working with it in MAMP is sound. I can set up MAMP, and I have set up WordPress before on it, but I never done it by taking a full live site, downloading it to my computer, and then making it work in MAMP. I’m only guessing, but I take it that I need to export the database from the hosted site via myPHPadmin, and then import it on the MAMP equivalent? I guess the disconnect for me is that it can’t be that simple to just have MAMP point to the local /wordpress folder and then expect the site run, yes?
It’s been a long time since I tinkered with WP, so I gather that I might also need to make a change in wp-config.php?
Finally, my biggest gripe about the current site’s functionality is that I’m not sure what it’ll take for me to get the theme area to work properly again. Tips on that would be good, too.
Thanks again! Look forward to your reply.

In reply to: Category as Pages Broke After Testing ThemeYes, just found out it is working again. Not sure what happened, or if having to resave the menu again did it. But….works now. Thanks for getting back to me!

In reply to: Widgets Inactive in WP 3.4I’ve had some quirks with the theme, anyway; I just took that theme before I knew about child themes. Time to make this a little project to clean up and set things as it should be.
If you’re game, I will work on it over the next few weeks and get back to you.
Thanks for the assist; will keep in touch.

In reply to: Widgets Inactive in WP 3.4@krishna – I reverted to the default theme, and when I found that the widgets still did not work I put the other theme back.
I can change it if you’ll get back to me asap; are you speaking the 2010 or Kubrick (I tried both)?

In reply to: Widgets Inactive in WP 3.4@swansonphotos – what is it that I’m to remove all of…? If it’s the widgets, I’m unable to edit them at all.
