  • vmkirin,

Did you ever find a resolution to your last question? I’m trying to accomplish the same thing. Require the information on the password page.

    Anyone?

    WPyogi,

Thanks for the quick response. I think I figured it out. I was cloning a previous post to maintain formatting etc.. and I have since learned that cloning de-activates publicize. Deleting the connections and re-activating before hitting publish should do the trick with a cloned post….I’m hoping.

Thanks, but I have reviewed this documentation many times and have still not been able to resolve my problem. I am not all that familiar with code language and therefore need some detailed steps to follow to help me resolve this. When accessing the blog I get:

    “Not Found
Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.”

Search for it and a synopsis appears, click on “continue reading” and it appears in full detail with this URL

    http://factorintalent.com/pragmaticleaderblog/index.php/2011/06/how-can-i-take-my-performance-to-the-next-level/

Which is the original link. What gives?

I have Permalink Editor plugin installed.

I’m sensing this is relatively simple to fix and are frustrated by my many attempts, and the fact that I’m just not seeing it!!

Please any assistance would be appreciated.

    In reply to: banner header

My blog is currently on WordPress with 2010 theme. The remainder of my site is coffee cup. I am in the process of creating each of the existing coffee cup pages in WordPress. I would like to have a different banner on the static pages. I followed the steps above for inserting a featured image, but nothing changed. Any advice?

Thanks for the feedback, unfortunately that did not help me.

Thank you both for your advice. I have downloaded version 3.1.1. Unzipped the files and uploaded through filezilla to what I thought was the correct subdirectory. However there are two places that I see wordpress installed.

    example.com/webroot/blog

    example.com/webroot/blogname

If you want specific information I’ll be happy to provide it, just not sure how much info I should share here.

    Govpatel,

Thank you so much for your detailed response. I have had the opportunity to access you website and view the video for manually installing wordpress. I found it very informative however I still am struggling with my upgrade. Perhaps I should provide a bit more detail. I am a novice, just learning wordpress and have been asked by a client to upgrade their blog. It is a custom installation whereas only the blog is on a wordpress platform. I have successfully backed-up the files, the database and deactivated all the plugins. I have been successfully re-storing the blog to its 2.85 version but can’t seem to get the upgrade to work. I’m not even sure I’m installing the files in the right directory. You videos mention a public_html folder, however I don’t seem to have that folder. The blog I believe uses the default theme -plain blue background. Appreciate any help you can offer.
