Thanks MeRuud, but you’re right – Buddypress offers way too much. I don’t want users to be able to create groups and I just want a simple set of forums, yet Buddypress seems to be unbelievably convoluted, unfriendly, and not really what most users are used to.
Can you customize buddypress to do what you want?

Note: I’ve seen that this code is now in the ‘Widgets’ choice on the sidebar, but I also want to post this on the homepage, so I need the code chunk itself. 🙂
