Actually my requirement for installation in subdirectory was changed to root and few days back when I finished implmenting the new site I installed the plugin again and tested it.
new implementation was on below domains (no more subdirectory)
domain.com
site1.domain.comNow even this implmentation was throwing error in plugin installed on site1.domain.com for connection to remote site (domain.com)
but somehow I tried entering domain in WP Remote User Sync as http://www.domain.com (with www) and it worked. Maybe it has something to do with www when I tried before aswell.
Hope this helps for other.

btw the domains are like
site1.domain.com
domain.com/site2Site2 is the new one.

When i login with facebook, it ask for facebook login, then after the permission is granted i get redirected to account page without and my account is also not logged in. Even after entering the login information at facebook
