    Hey DuetIT,

    Thanks for the 5 star review! Appreciate it πŸ™‚ glad you’re liking the plugin.

    Hey Seguros,

    Hope you’re doing well!

    So it’s not smushing at all for you? If that’s the case then it’s likely that it’s not able to communicate with our servers. Smush sends the image to our server so it can do the “smushing” then it sends it back to you, so if it can’t communicate with the server – nothing will happen.

    Can you create a thread in our support area: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wp-smushit

    Then we can help you further with this πŸ™‚

    Cheers,
    Tyler

    Thanks for updating the review! Really appreciate it πŸ™‚

    At this time a feature such as clearing out users after x number of days would be more likely. I’ve passed that onto the developer. I’ll mention your request of not creating the user in the first place, but again – with the way the registration works, it does need that user ID to already exist so it knows who it’s applying the membership/payment too.

    Anyways, thanks again for your time coleburg. Hope you’re having a great weekend!

    Thanks for the reply @coleburg, glad you’ve found the support to be improved!

    This would be a 5 star plug in if you could force them to complete the subscription either before or at the same time as registering without the ability to not complete it and still having an account.

    Yes, this is how plugin was designed – in order for the membership to be applied at all, there needs to be a user account existing. So when the data is passed to the payment gateway it knows which user ID is making the payment.

    Perhaps a feature we could look into adding in the future is one where the users are automatically removed after a certain period of time if they don’t complete payment? Just a thought.

    Just so you know, you can create a “default” membership too and ensure that those users who join and don’t complete payment aren’t allowed to actually access anything or you can give them specific access to their own content. Perhaps some upsell content to try and convince them to join.

    Anyways, thanks again for your reply. I noticed the poor support you experienced before was part of your initial review, not sure if the improvement there is worth another star or 2? πŸ™‚ hopefully I’m not sounding pushy, if you still feel it’s 2 stars then ignore that last bit and leave it as-is. Wanting to work our way towards that 5 stars for ya!

    Let me know if you have any other questions coleburg, hope you have a good weekend!

    Hey Sunilyadav,

    I just wanted to follow up on this and see how you’re doing with Membership 2? I’m not sure if you were still using the plugin when we released Membership 2 but it was a HUGE update. It’s actually a whole new plugin now, we re-wrote it from the ground up!

    It has a completely re-designed user interface and includes a ton more features. Stripe support as well.

    Would love for you to give it another try and update your review to let us know what you think now. Of course, if you still feel it’s a 1 star plugin then leave your rating as-is, but we would still like to hear any feedback you may have on it πŸ™‚

    Look forward to hearing back!

    Cheers,
    Tyler

    Hey Py64,

    I just wanted to mention that we’ve recently released a HUGE update to Membership(v4.0). In-fact, it’s completely re-written!

    One of our biggest complaints in the last version was that the plugin was confusing to navigate, well we’ve re-designed the user interface from the ground up πŸ™‚ a couple other big improvements include proper user role/capability support for memberships as well as Stripe support. Plus tons more, it really is a whole new plugin now.

    I’m not sure if you’re still using Membership and have already updated or not but we would love if you gave it another try and updated your review to let us know what you think πŸ™‚ if you still feel it’s a 1 star plugin then of course, just leave your rating as-is, we would still like to hear any feedback you may have though.

    Cheers,
    Tyler

    PS. The way you setup the protection is completely re-designed as well πŸ™‚ it’s no longer using access levels, it’s a much more simple interface.

    PS. As for the nags, we are actually working on re-designing those along with our WPMU DEV Dashboard to make them all less intrusive.

    Hey ysar,

    Appreciate your feedback!

    First, when I click the Smush button on an individual image in the media library, it doesn’t seem to do anything.

    By any chance are you using Hostgator? There is a conflict with the way they have their servers setup and we’ve reached out to them to try and get it sorted out πŸ™‚ still waiting for them to make the change πŸ™ so far they are the only host that is having any issues with it, unless you are on a different one then we would love to know which one so we can reach out to them as well.

    Even so, I tried it, and after 60 seconds, it had reduced 2 files by a whopping 1.7K. It didn’t seem worth it to let it run for another 24 minutes for such small changes.

    It should be smushing much faster than that, I just tested it on my install which is also a shared host and it smushed 17 images in about 30 seconds. They were quite small to begin with but it saved me 16% of their size, which equalled 435kb altogether. That’s with no image quality loss of course.

    Perhaps I just do well by not unloading ginormous images in the first place, and by making sure they’re all 72ppi instead of hi-res, but surely since I generally use PNGs instead of JPGs, it could find something to reduce. The previous version always did.

    It is very possible that they are already quite optimized. Keep in mind Smush does lossless optimization, so it removes the unnecessary data saved within the image file. If the image doesn’t have much of that in the first place then you might see only a small optimization.

    I would be more than happy to troubleshoot this further on your install to see if we can get Smush it moving at it’s normal speed on your install πŸ™‚ I’ll also test out some of your images on my own site to make sure your site is optimizing them correctly.

    If you’re interested in doing that then please contact me through our private contact form: https://premium.wpmudev.org/contact/

    Select “I have a different question” and for the subject line enter: “Attn: Tyler Postle” – that ensures it gets assigned to me.

    Look forward to hearing back ysar!

    Yeah, can’t go wrong with Tom Cruise in an action movie πŸ˜€

    i want to remove the search bar from which is below the header appearing in all pages
    please tell me solution to remove it please

    Do you want to remove just the search bar? Or that whole grey section? If it’s just the search bar then only use this CSS:

    form.searchform {
    display: none;
    }

    If you want to remove that whole grey section, then use this CSS:

    section.breadcrumb-section {
    display: none;
    }

    Hope that helps!

    Hey Gregy,

    Glad you got it all sorted πŸ™‚

    I just tested it to make sure and it’s working for me with both br and p tags. This is what I entered into the text editor for the protection message:

    <p>The content you are trying to access is only available to members. Sorry.<br />Testing</p>

    It displayed properly with the “Testing” on the second line.

    If you do run into any further issues just let us know.

    Enjoy the rest of your day!

    Hey quicksynergy,

    Sorry to hear you ran into saving issues πŸ™ This is likely server related due to your memory limit or max_input_vars limit. You can increase these by adding the following lines to your wp-config and php.ini file:

    wp-config:

    define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );
    define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );

    php.ini:

    max_input_vars = 10000
    max_execution_time = 1000

    That should resolve the issue. If you still have any saving issues after that then let me know and we will be more than happy to troubleshoot further.

    We actually have a big update coming out to CoursePress soon that has a ton of performance optimizations.

    If you want to contact me privately via our WPMU DEV contact form: https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/#question

    Select “I have a different question” and for your subject enter: “Attn: Tyler Postle“. This ensures it gets assigned to me.

    Then I can ensure you get a copy of the update as soon as it’s ready. We’re aiming for end of next week πŸ™‚

    Look forward to hearing back!

    Cheers,
    Tyler
