This is now in SidePosts 2.0-beta. You can download this in this page: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sideposts/download/

Just for you to know, this is a beta version that has not been yet fully tested and can contain some bugs.

I introduced this on the development version. Please, download it and check if this solves your problem.

Just for you to now: If you download and use the development version, you will have to stay with it until next release tomorrow or past, as it changes some plugin settings names in the database.

Please, tell me if this solves your issue. Thanks!

Please, download the development version, as I think it solves this issue. If you download and use it, you cannot revert to current version and have to wait for next release tomorrow for new updates.

Tell me if the development version solves this issue. Thanks!

The plugin renames the image with the format: user_nicename{pictID}.jpg
The field user_nicename should not have any space on it, as WordPress creates it by using the lowercase login name and replacing all spaces by dashes.

I cannot see here why you’re getting spaces on it. And don’t see why you are getting an space just after lastname. The plugin does not use this fields and just reads the WordPress created nice_name as I mentioned above.

In any case, I will introduce a check in the nice_name to trim all spaces and to change them to underscores, to see if this solves your problem.

Will tell you when this is in the development version for you to check.

There is a setting for this. If you didn’t change it, the file is in the URL http://yoursite.com/download/<filename>.

Are you using any other of my plugins? Perhaps Inline-Pagelist or SidePosts? Do you see the Gallery Settings? (Sure not).

This bug is caused by upgrading the framework used for the Community (and all these other plugins).

Framework is distributed with all plugins, but loaded only once. It’s difficult to know from where is loaded the Framework, just from the plugin WordPress loads first. So, upgrading one of my plugins can cause the framework upgrade for all Alkivia plugins.

Sure if you deactivate my Pagelist or Sideposts plugin, the problem is solved and you will see all Community menus again.

I’m solving this bad behavior just know and hope to release a solution today. (As Beta-4).

If you download the file when logged in as administrator (or any other user with ‘upload_files’ capability, the downloads are not count. Also, the disk folder which holds the files and the ‘logical’ name to download them, cannot be the same. (I think your case is this as the link points directly to the disk file).

I will start rewriting this plugin in next weeks. It was one of the firsts thinks I wrote for WordPress and its maintenance has been abandoned for a while. Looking at it now, I don’t like how it does and manages all things. This plugin is needed for better settings, some checks, and a easiest way to manage the whole thing.

Hope I will be able to rewrite it, and provide a 2.0 version as soon as I want to.

This has already been included in the development version. I will start testing this on my sites, and if no bugs are found, will be released as SidePosts 2.0.

If you want to test it, you can download the development version. Take care, as it is an unstable version not fully tested!

Also a possibility to show private posts on the sidebar has been added. Private posts are only show to users with the ‘read_private_posts’ capability. If you set them on a SidePosts Widget, them will not show on HOME, but will show normally in all other pages. This is that way, because WordPress does not provide archives or feeds for private posts.

Solved in 1.4.2 (Just released).

Well, really it’s a plugin’s bug. It generates bad links when no category or tag base are found. In this case, it should use the WordPress defaults, but it does not.

There is a Workaround you can use until the bug is solved: Goto your permalinks options and fill in category base and tag base with ‘category’ and ‘tag’ respectively. This workaround solves the bug until it is solved in code.

I’ll try to release a solution later today.

The plugin does nothing with posts or the posts query. I cannot figure out how this can be result of activating the Community plugin.

Please do this checks to try to find out where can the plugin make the posts to duplicate. After doing it, please, tell us the results, and when the posts start to duplicate.

1) deactivate the complete plugin, but do not install, activate or deactivate any other plugin or widget. (Check the posts).

2) Activate the plugin, but go to Components and deactivate all. (Check the posts).

3) Activate the components one by one. Do it in this order: Login Form, Profiles, Gallery. every time yo activate a component, do the posts check to see when they start to duplicate.

Tell us what happened after each activation to help to focus where can start the problem.

I’ve seen how it gets the permalinks for your posts. It prepends http://yoursite.com/goto/ to any permalink.

I think is not related with the way you set up your permalinks. It will be related with the way Pagelist removes the link when you are on the same post than the title.

Please tell me which tag do you use to setup the list on that post. Have you used [catlist] ?

At this moment the picture cannot be sown in this widget. Sidebar login does not provide any way to change the output without hacking it.

In the future, similar functionality will be provided in this plugin, but not by now.

This is the expected behavior. WordPress excerpts are text plain. They don’t show links, images or any other HTML element, just plain text.

That’s by WordPress design. When you use excerpts anywhere in WordPress, you get only plain clean text. Same when using excerpts with SidePosts.

Not in the current version. You will have this functionality in the coming version 2.0 which is being written now.
