Found a solution that work 😀
in the custom fields, it need to be visibility see everywere
in the plugin settings => appearance => profil menu
activate profil menu => ticked
about tab => ticked
who could view the about tab => show to everyone
default profil tab => about
all the other option not activated and magic it work

I have the exact same problem except I just download the plugin.
Custom fields I made work well in “edition mode” but not on “reading mode”.
@champsupertramp and I don’t have any migration button (obviously 😀 )
