  • Reading about custom taxonomy, I see that when posts belong to multiple categories, a custom taxonomy is the way to go anyway for forward flexibility and also some fun menu plugins. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

    This is exactly what I’m trying to achieve too, but I’m not sure the answer posted above is quite what willx was looking for, it seems to default all categories to a given color.

    Having set colors for all sub categories under my “rating” category on the geomashup->settings->category/color/show connecting line setction, I would like the pins on the map to be color coded according to the rating category.

    Like willx, I have posts in 3 categories. If I remove the post form all but the rating category, it seems to work as expected. But when a post is in more than 1 category, it does not. The above solution defaults all pins to red, not ignore a certain category in preference of another.

    Is there a way to get the plugin to only “see” a known category, in my case, rating, and color the pin according to the geomashup settings for that category?
