I reverted to a back-up from a few days ago and it all seems ok now so issue solved – thank you!
I changed the theme to Twenty Fifteen and the missing posts showed up but when I changed it back to Beautiful Pro all of the customisations have been lost?

We use Beautiful Pro theme but we have had it customised.
If I revert to Twenty Fifteen will I be able to change back to Beautiful Pro?
