    Thanks for responding Navaratnam and yes, and I checked with my host that the details are correctly entered in wp-config.php…

    Thanks for the message and link but as a noobe, can you help me a bit more…

    I don’t think I have a back-up problem; I would like to be that far into the process but I am not yet! I look forward to it!

    I can however, access phpMyAdmin and I can see the database I created as part of the initial installation process; I can also see my user name and that both the db and the un are as I have set out in wp-config.php

    So, still flumoxed…
