I’m glad I came across someone with the same issue. I too have the same issue, and it just started happening when I installed WP Super Cache (which I desperately needed).
It looks as though you may have solved the problem…at least on my end your thumbnails are showing up perfectly. Do you mind sharing how you resolved it?

When I delete the ‘tagline’ from the general settings, the Facebook share shows NO description text at all. So it would appear for some reason all of the Facebook/Google snippets are pulling the blog’s tagline.
