In reply to: Trouble Transfering A Blog to Godaddy That I BoughtWell, Steve. Here’s what you’re going to need to figure out (no one can get this for you and you may need to beat it out of GoDaddy):
* The actual name of the database (i.e. wordpress)
* The username associated with the database (i.e. dbadmin)
* The password for the username above (i.e. 123456)
* Database location (i.e. localhost or db.somegodaddysite.com)These three pieces of information will be what you need to insert into your wp-config.php file in order for WordPress to connect and communicate with your database. Until then, you’ll continue to receive the error message.

In reply to: Supr Preppy WordPress ThemeThanks pylorns. My personal blog has been my guinea pig for years, so I’m not too worried if it should burst into flames (knocking on wood). But, I’ll probably be switching it back to its own design pretty soon. 🙂

In reply to: Question about multiple usersTo answer both of your questions, yes. The first can be accomplished with a plugin — most notably, Post Levels, though I’m not sure of its compatibility with 2.5 — and there is a tutorial for adding the login form to your blog’s sidebar.

In reply to: Editing the post slug… gone in 2.5?That’s definitely strange. Here’s a screen shot of what I’m referencing just in case. Chances are, if you don’t have that option, something is amiss with your installations.

In reply to: Permalink ProblemOut of curiosity, Scooby, why not simply have your entire blog installed in /blog/ since it’s in your blog’s URL anyway. You could create either a file called home.php (placed in your theme’s folder) or assign a static front page from the Options -> Reading panel. Then you wouldn’t need to finagle with any custom file names/permalinks during upgrades.

In reply to: Editing the post slug… gone in 2.5?Hi Rudolf,
Actually, they tweaked it since development — now the option should be directly under the post title on the Write Post panel. (You should see the entire permalink URL with a little Edit link at the end of it — click it to edit the slug.)~ Teli

In reply to: Custom PHP Includes Break in 2.0 TemplateHi JMF,
Why not try:<?php include_once(‘/username/public_html/php/trim_crap.php’); ?>
(replace ‘username’ with your username of course) and see if that helps 🙂

In reply to: how to desactivate RSSWhy not just set the “Show the most recent…” to 0 in the “Options->Reading”? Once it’s set to 0, when someone accesses the feed, no entries will be listed.

In reply to: Making the sidebar DISAPPEAR?!You should also pay close attention to whether or not the content wrap has a width specified in the style.css file. Even if you remove the sidebar, the width may still be constrained.
Hope that helps to point you in the right direction and happy holidays 🙂
