I thought of that, but I emptied my cache and the problem persists. I even tried it on a computer at my university–still there.
I’ve had this same problem and also need help, except the category I want to delete isn’t even showing up in the Dashboard (I “deleted” it already)–but yet when I go to the main page (the public site), there it is! Please help…
I have this same problem. I have this category (called “0542”, with category id “3”) that just won’t go away. It’s not in the dashboard anymore, it’s been deleted, it’s not in wp_terms_taxonomy (in fact, the ids skip from 2 to 4) or wp_terms tables. But when you load up the main page, sure enough, there it is in the category list. Help!!
