That idea has prompted me to dig further in SendGrid and I found new options that allow me to create multiple user accounts to route mail.
We relay all e-mails through SendGrid which allows us to troubleshoot routing issues and check when a customer should have received a certain enquiry, etc.
When we create a new WordPress site it’s done using Duplicator to reduce the time taken, and in that ‘template’ we have the SMTP password. I suppose the ideal option would be for each customer to have their own password in SendGrid. That would work for us, but maybe not everyone else.We build sites for customers who then want to make their own changes – I’d like to hide that password from those users.
Good point Jason, that would need to be obscured too, but then to the casual observer the password wouldn’t be visible.
Yeah, that’s my suggestion too. It’d be great if the password field was obscured.
Hi Thomas, yes, it’s all fine. The time delay in Google Analytics detecting the tracking code was the issue – I’m just impatient. I guess the lesson here is to trust the Google Tag Assistant – if that says everything is installed and working then you just have to trust it and wait. Graham
There are no hits shown at the moment so I’ll leave it for while and try later on. I think I’ve been playing too much and not letting Analytics get a grip on things. I’ll report back tomorrow.
If it usually takes 24-48 hours I’ll leave it and wait. I was expecting a quick result and for tracking to be detected immediately – or maybe I’m getting confused with the webmaster tools meta tags. I’ll look again in a couple of days. Thanks Tomi.
I know, that’s what’s so confusing. But Google Analytics is telling me that the tracking code isn’t installed. Everything seems OK but Google Analytics doesn’t like it for some reason and I have no idea why. I have added the required PHP code right after the <body> tag but no luck.
