In reply to: Blogging via EmailThe reason I would , and am thinking of setting up, the email to blog is I already have an exsiting mailing list I send newsletters to as well as other group mailings. I want to start transitioning them to RSS communications with podcasts.
I can have my posts automatically put on the blog each time we send info and updates. This will not only archive them, but make them available for searching through. For those who keep telling me that they did not receive my latest email, I can start getting them to the blog and not miss out on important information.
Still educating for RSS, podcasts. First have to get the group to install a Reader…

If the link to a page(s) in the the rss item worked, you could then offer a place for people to select what they wanted…

In reply to: RSS feed enclosuresAs a newbie to using WordPress I found an interesting thing. I tried to get a podcast to come up in my reader and could not get it to work.
I noticed that I had written an Excerpt in the advanced mode and the mp3 link did not show in my reader. I edited the post and eliminated the Excerpt and refreshed the reader. The podcast came through and loaded in my music player just fine.

I just started using WordPress and did my first mp3 link. At first it did not work correctly as a Podcast in my news reader (netnewswire 2). All I could see in my reader was the excerpt. So, I edited the excerpt out and saved the post, refreshed the feed and the podcast came through.
