Thank you for your help. I checked the wp-options and it is showing http://studiovivid.com.au. Overnight I spoke with my hosting provider who seems to have come some way in rectifying the problem with the redirect loop (although creating a new problem). They believe the error was created by a plugin (although I had manually turned them off in the course of trouble shooting). However, they claimed to have fixed the loop error by renaming db.php and object-cache.php.
The site is now loading with a new theme and no content (!) and the wpadmin is showing although won’t allow me to log into it. I have cleared my cache also in case that was the problem.
