    Sorry, again it hasn’t changed anything. Out of desperation I even tried inserting the line code to see if that would change anything, but again nothing. I’ve removed that now and just left in the code you suggested, as requested.

    I hope someone can solve this, I’m getting desperate!

    I’ve tried every single combination now – margin & padding, top, bottom, and both, 10 & 20px, updating every single time, and no change. On my site there’s a gap between the ‘About Me’ widget and the text, I don’t understand why I can’t get the same gap under ‘Pages’.

    Edited to say, I did remove some code a while ago to get rid of the menu that would normally be below the header. Could this be having any effect? (I don’t want to replace the header menu btw).

    I really thought that would work, it seemed so obvious, but unfortunately it didn’t. I even tried 20px, deleted cache and refreshed page. Any other ideas? Here’s the whole widget code…

    I don’t think I explained the problem properly. Where the word ‘Pages’ is, and the list of the actual pages there is no gap. It looks bad visually, I need to put some code in style.css to create a gap, but I don’t know what or where.

    The term ul is used in css loads of times, I need more of a clue as to which particular one I’m looking for.

    Could you expand on where to add that in style.css please?

    As no-one else appears to be helping you, I’ll have a go!

    Go to Dashboard, Appearance, Editor. Select Stylesheet (style.css)

    Under header you should find something like this:

    #site-title a {
    color: #000;
    font-weight: bold;
    text-decoration: none;

    Change the color code for the one you want (you can find these on the web).

    Always save what you are changing in an external file in case something goes wrong or you aren’t happy, because these files don’t have a default button!

    I’m relatively new to this too, but I’ve found you can change pretty much anything in your theme with a bit of common sense and experimentation. Look for ‘font’? Just always remember to backup. Refresh a site page to see whether any experiment has worked.

    Finally, if you plan to make changes you should create a ‘Child Theme’ because default versions can bounce back when WordPress updates.

    Best of luck.

    Esmi, go away and do what you usually do online. I need someone here who knows what they are talking about.

    esmi, no more posts from you. You are either completely useless or winding me up.

    I’ve just made another custom menu with all the pages in the order I want, and saved it, but it hasn’t made any difference to the order of the pages in contents as shown on each page

    I know, I said that in my last post!!!

    Sorry, I don’t understand what you are saying? Please real my last post, although I’m not tech-savvy I don’t think I can explain the problem in any simpler terms.

    It is a custom menu esmi. I’ve just deleted my custom menu but the contents list on each page still remains. Its like its hard-wired on the site. When I publish a new page it just appears automatically at the bottom of the list. I just want to change the order the pages are listed in contents.

    Thread Starter StingGB

    (@stinggb)

    Yes, but the pages are not listed in the order I want. How do I change the order of the pages in contants.

    On the menu widget all the pages are listed in the order I want them (in contents), but on the site pages (contents) they are appearing in the order I’m publishing them.
