It is only showing up the most recent posts in all categroies, not the selected category

If the feed category conicides with the widget category then a set of posts is shown, and they are the same posts whichever category is chosen and they do not all match the category.???

I don’t know if this is any help but about 4 months ago I got a virus infection which was similar although it did not direct to the same malware site. I never found the source of it but I wonder if it came through the same plugin?

I was able to upload a saved back up of the site and also found a stranger had appeared as an admin so I deleted him and changed my password and log in name etcForum: Fixing WordPress
