Best way is to import the starter templates and you can see how that was built.

You have cover widget on both profile and directory templates.
Also when you have the Pro version installed you can define templates for the items in the loops, like the member item that gets repeated in the members directory. there you can add a cover for the member.If you meant something else please let me know and I will gladly help.
