In reply to: Multiple, being 2, “blogs” on one “site?”Maybe I should mention to you a tool to help with themes:
Artisteer is a WYSIWYG WordPress theme generator.<IMG border=0 width=1 height=1 src=”http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=GTtM4y/3hMk&bids=173903.10000001&type=3&subid=0″ >
Saved me an enormous amount of time.
Hope it’s okay to post that link. Searched WP about that and found no reason not to.

In reply to: Multiple, being 2, “blogs” on one “site?”Sounds like the right theme could do it for you. You might find a theme template that has the layout you describe.
Maybe you could put the content that the page is about in the header area.
I think you’d want a two-column theme. In one column, you’d put your widgets.
Sounds like you’re in early brainstorm mode, and you’ll firm up what you want as you learn.

In reply to: Comment Redirect user accessAnybody know of a different plugin that redirects commenters to a designated page?
Every line of code in wp-admin/includes/dashboard.php is followed by a blank line.
Should every blank line be deleted?
P.S. Correction: appears with old and new users, but goes away after you open any other WP admin page after logging in.
Here’s what appears;
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/name/public_html/wp-admin/includes/dashboard.php:1789) in /home/name/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 784

It would be nice to be able to make one payment to a “bank” for plugin makers.

And the problem happened on two different computers with different browsers.

In reply to: “Update Page” button and content disappearsUsing WP 2.8.5, my content all disappeared after I installed All-In-One SEO Pack Version 1.6.7, and reappeared when I deactivated it.
What remained was the header, background, blank page, and index-page tab.
But I came in here to describe the problem, reactivated All-In-One SEO Pack, and the problem seems to have disappeared.
So maybe WP 2.8.5 handles the problem if you install, activate, deactivate, and reactivate??
If the problem returns, I’ll post an update here.

In reply to: Comment Redirect user accessTapping this message up, hoping for a reply.
Almost same problem.
Only appears with new users. Users who’d already registered don’t get the warning lines. (Two in this case.)
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/name/public_html/wp-admin/includes/dashboard.php:1789) in /home/name/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 784

Thought I’d ask for another opinion before we just go ahead and do this.

In reply to: Comment Redirect user accessClarification:
When Comment Redirect is NOT installed, the Plugins section doesn’t appear on the left-side controls menu in WordPress FOR RESTRICTED USERS. This is what we want.
But when Comment Redirect is installed, the Plugins section appears FOR RESTRICTED USERS. The only plugin listed is Comment Redirect.
This allows the most highly-restricted users to change the page to which a commenter is redirected after commenting.
