been there… done that… tore off all my hair…
turns out that the 2 directories has to be written in the ROOT of your WP installation…
eg…
http://www.tasmena.org/wp-filez
http://www.tasmena.org/wp-photos
NOT
http://www.tasmena.org/wp-content/plugins/postie/wp-filez
http://www.tasmena.org/wp-content/plugins/postie/wp-photos
once you have it in root… the test intstall will run smooth as silk~~~
