Thank you! Your suggestion worked perfectly. One last question. Is there an easy way to display the SKU in the cart page or at checkout?

This code did the trick. I must have mistyped something before. Thanks for your help.

I downloaded the regular store front theme and then followed an article on how to make a child theme. Following the instructions, I created a style.css and a functions.php, saved them as a zip folder and uploaded to wordpress

    Thread Starter speedwrap1

    (@speedwrap1)

So where do I go to fix that issue? Is it something with code? Or is it more of a wordpress customization setting?

    (@speedwrap1)

I’m not sure if adding the code changed anything. There is still empty white space surrounding the site

While in Storefront, the SKU data shows up correctly. Then as soon as I activate the child, the info disappears. Does that mean something is not correctly set up in my child theme?

I looked at my functions.php and this is all I could find in the file.

This is what shows when I go into product data. There is no box for SKU in any product.

This might be a dumb question, but do I need to copy woocommerce files into the Storefront theme? I’m just looking at the file manager on my hosting service (Bluehost) and I noticed that my previous theme (HighendWP-child) has a directory included that is labelled woocommerce. I do not see that directory anywhere in the Storefront package. I know Storefront is designed specifically for Woocommerce, but I never saw anything about needing to copy any files or directories into the theme.

I deactivated Storefront Design Customizer, but got the same result. As far as I can tell, the plugin only applied to aesthetic properties such as colors. Is there some code I need to change or add since the statement is not working?

You are correct. All of my products and variations have SKU data that was created when the products were first added to my website and I want that to appear on the single product page. Any idea how I would customize the theme to add this bit of info? I’ve seen people suggest adding code to the child functions.php file, but every time I add code I get something that displays “SKU: N/A” or a blank space after the word SKU where the number should appear.

They were not automatically generated. We had to sit down and type out each part number when we created each variation of a specific piece. Sorry if I made it seem like they were automatically generated. Also, the post you suggested is my own post. I didn’t find it very helpful.
