Honestly subdomains is working a lot better, never did the reset permalinks things, but then again probably it was meant to be subdomains heh

having the exact same issue too i been reading and you are the first one to have the exact same issue so its a common problem phew, anyways i been having the same issue since fresh install in my multi site i can connect to the main site but not any other in the multi site i tried different accounts etc also working with 4.5 any update would be great!

i agree with George, i would make a page for each trainer and assign the subdomain for each page, multisite is overkill and like Geaorge said look buddypress sound amazing for what you are building good luck!

@paul Barthmaier i know i was trying all and i saw a video where the guy put it below that and it worked for him so i gave it a shot with no luck and forgot to change it back.

@faospark i tried everything but the directories didn’t work for me, i gave up on it, and tried subdomains and it worked perfectly

thanks to everyone that gave a little of their time to try to help me, if anyone find this topic with the same issue sorry i did not found a solution and everything was a fresh install im not the smartest coder but i know a few things also i have full access to cpanel and ftp and tried a few things and edits i found online and when it did not work i delete everything and fresh install again including databases except if it was a simple edit that i could revert back also contacted my host and everything was up and running and with the right configurations from their end Hostgator is my host. I followed the instructions from wordpress for subdomain after enabling multisite in the config file and worked just fine everything in this post was with wordpress 4.5, the only thing that i did find that lacked information for users that are new to domains and subdomains subject was the DNS record, i find this very helpful and its exactly what i did siteground’s instructions to create a wildcard record hope this was helpful.
