I guess I should clarify my settings a little bit. I do have the option checked to include posts in my Sitemap content. I also have pages and categories included.
I’m aware of the duplicate content issues related to including categories, archives, etc with regards to SEO. The theme I’m using is powered by categories. Each post I make it typically under more than one category and the theme outputs/organizes the content in the appropriate places. I want to exclude the majority of my categories from the sitemap (which is working now).
The issue I’m having is that posts that are listed in categories included in the sitemap do appear. However, if that post is listed in multiple categories, and one of those categories is excluded from the sitemap, the post does not appear in the sitemap. It as though the exclusion from one category, over-rides the inclusion of the post.
Is there any way to get around this?
