In reply to: [Wise Chat] Plugin crashed my server error 500So I tried to crash it and even screen captured it, but of course, this time, it didn’t crash. The only thing I did differently was, I created a channel this time. Now the plugin seems to “wait” when I have maintenance and just posts the message after the maintenance mode is off again.
Before, it used to give an error message that went into a loop

In reply to: [Wise Chat] Plugin crashed my server error 500Okay, I’ll try one more thing to see if it is really what I think it is. I will actually try to kill my server again. I can’t believe it π
I have contacted you with that link as well. I will write again.
For everyone interested:
The developer got admin access and found the problem: You can’t have shortcodes in any description of your slides, that will make the slider not load the content.
According to the developer that helped me, this is not a problem or an error, it’s just a feature that this slider doesn’t have. I guess however you see it, we as users could not know that shortcodes make the plugin not work.
So I hope this helps anyone with similar problems.
The developer might code something that converts the shortcodes in description to normal text, to prevent this non feature from applying, but I am not sure about that.
A thing that should get fixed is that the slider did not cut the descriptions to the entered length (300 as default). Instead, it used the whole posts as description. For me, this will be fixed soon. I don’t know if they will release an update as well.
I hope this can help someone else.

In reply to: [Wise Chat] Plugin crashed my server error 500Okay, it fried my server again. This time I am sure it’s your plugin. It added blank spaces to my .htaccess file this time.
You can leave your email I’ll send you a screenshot of the error loop in chat.
I sent you emails. Leaving one doesn’t fix it. I reinstalled with the file you sent me – still the same problem

In reply to: [Wise Chat] Plugin crashed my server error 500There were a few lines of dots written into my .htaccess file, which caused the server error.
As I just wrote a chat message and didn’t touch anything else… I don’t know, but could your plugin have done that?
You can reproduce the error message by typing something in chat while the site is in maintenance mode. That could maybe start the loop again.
I wrote two things.
I deleted the plugin from ftp when the error occurred. Not sure if I am going to install again..
Okay I installed it again. So far, so good..
I only added it three times to show you that three different sliders don’t work. I originally tried it with 1.
By the way, if you look at the slider test page I posted, you can see the working free slider on the right. Every other plugin is working as well.
Of all the sliders out there I got to buy the one that doesn’t work. Great. You answered a few hours ago to another thread, please answer here as well. I already bought your product and I am sitting on it not able to use it.
I mean, the irony is that I am using a free slider now that’s actually working well.
I am using a free slider now that does the job perfectly, it’s just a little limited. I hope you answer soon.
Please, I bought this plugin and am waiting to use it. I wrote emails to your support address with my order number to get the upgrade for premium users. I have version 10.0 and hope an upgrade fixes the problem.

In reply to: [Spam protection, Honeypot, Anti-Spam by CleanTalk] Does a perfect jobToday, I am still a fan. I run it on two websites now. It blocked more than 25000 spam registrations and I did not hear from any legit user that they were not able to sign up.
It’s magic, really. Keep up the great work!

In reply to: [PixelHunter] Getting error on my first postI am glad I could help, although I found it elsewhere π
I have moved on to another plugin already though. It’s sad that you had that issue even 2 weeks after it was posted on the official forum. They should have fixed it if they want their theme to be successful

In reply to: [PixelHunter] Levels of the menuHey Jose,
thanks for all your effort. I am really sad about it, but it really looks like I have to move on. I was browsing other themes and it’s amazing what they can do in comparison. And that is without the errors that I had problems with. I could solve them even as a newbie, but it’s getting out of my comfort zone, so I won’t be able to try your solution. Sorry and again, thank you for your effort.

In reply to: [PixelHunter] Getting error on my first postI just found the fix on the forum.
Replace line 52 with this:
if(get_the_tag_list()){ ?>It works now. But it’s bad that this issue, which makes the whole theme useless and nearly made me use another theme (hadn’t I liked it so much already) was already known a week ago and no quick update has been issued.
Don’t want to complain, just think you should know I nearly deleted your theme again and others will probably do it if a major error like this occurs and they don’t take the time to search the web for a solution.
