no additional questions, brilliantly done, your plugin basically can be used nearly like a front end media manager, that is quite extraordinary.

now to figure out how a user role of subscriber can allow delete that media that they own.

also if you felt useful, having an option to ask “Are you sure you want to delete the file?” with an OK or cancel option might be handy.

But either way, well done and I am extremely grateful for your efforts.

that’s great you found the login_redirect filter overlap.

yeah I am happy to test for you to see if there is any strange behaviour going on. let me know how you’d like me to do this.

just to clarify what my shortcode looks like

    [fu-upload-form success_page=”..” post_id=”97″]
the “..” is my attempt to navigate to a page one level up in the URL hierarchy. I presume this wouldn’t work nor is expected to? that you only accept full URLs

oh my goodness, you are quite extraordinary, thank you so much david for your efforts with this. I am looking forward to trying it out, so will try to contact you to get a hold of the example plugin to test it out for you.

will also be making a donation, far beyond the support I was expecting 🙂

It’s always good to ask the obvious!
    1. I have this check no problem!
    2. yeah I understand this behaviour.

I have done some sleuthing and have found the incompatibility

It is the plugin “Paid Memberships Pro” which is networked enabled. I am using this plugin to allow end users to create their own subsites on registration.

Now the steps to recreate the issue
    1. create a multisite network
    2. create a subsite (in addition to the main one that is automatically available)
    3. install your plugin (only activate on the subsite)
    4. the behaviour of your plugin works perfectly on your subsite, you login and you can be redirected as expected to the front end with either the site homepage option or whichever option you choose
    5. install “Paid Memberships Pro” – you can do this for free from within the plugin search
    6. network activate the plugin “Paid Memberships Pro”
    7. logout
    8. attempt to navigate to the subsite – > get asked to login
    9. login – and the user would expect your plugin to navigate to the homepage, but no instead it goes to the dashboard… there is our problem

with respect to your redirect URL as you asked
    http://siteURL.com/subsite1/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2FsiteURL.com%2Fsubsite1%2F

Let me know if you’d like me to do anything else – or even indicate if you don’t expect these two plugins to work alongside each other..

Wow David, that is extremely kind of you to offer to help build such a tool.

But basically my site is a login only site, so nobody can be viewing or uploading media to the site unless they are registered users. And I am not wanting end users to be able to access the wp-admin side of wordpress.

What I would love to be able to do is have it so that Administrators, as well as Subscribers who uploaded media, can delete that media on the front end. It could be a simple matter of having a list of files – then a delete hyperlink next to the ones they are allowed to delete (for administrators, this is all of them, for subscribers, it is just those that they uploaded themself.

Maybe there is already a plugin that does this which I am not aware of though, what do you think?

Again, really appreciate your work on this stuff, your plugin is really comprehensive
