I did another upload for the header image. This time I deactivated all plugins before uploading.
Once again, the color shift occurred.
So the Plug-ins don’t seem to be the problem.

I am using the Twenty Twelve Theme that came with the WP download version 1.1.
The image files I am using are jpeg files.
