OK – I’ve found out who the domain name provider is. Will they be able to delete my account? This is absolutely not fair on the people who actually own this domain, and it seems kind of terrible that a WordPress error exists that allows anyone else to claim it.
I don’t even know who that is! I know it’s a .co.uk domain (no wordpress in the title) but I can’t access the account at all so I have no way of finding out anything like that. I didn’t personally sign up to any domain name provider – I literally just made a WordPress.org account, and as I had this empty website open, it seemed to assume that I was making it in order to take that .co.uk website. Aaaaaaaaaah.
