In reply to: The scheduler in my WordPress install is not workingI managed to resolve this problem. Turns out that the W3 Total Cache plugin that I was using somehow disrupted WP-Cron. I don’t totally understand how or why because I had the plugin on another site and the WP-Cron was working fine on that site, but the fact of the matter is that I disabled the plugin on the site that had the WP-Cron problem and that fixed the problem and all working fine now.
I get the same problem. I did actually uninstall the plugin at one point because of the error messages.
The questions that I have, which haven’t been addressed above are:
1. If I get the error message that says I must re-authenticate with Google, do I really need to, or can I ignore the message?
2. If I am getting the re-authenticate warning, does that mean that the stats that I am seeing in my dashboard are inaccurate, or can I take them as accurate?
I know the message is a bit annoying, but I actually don’t want to disable the dashboard as I want to get a quick snapshot of how things are going, so I’m prepared to rather ignore the error message. I do just need to know whether the stats that are showing in the dashboard are accurate or not though. The more annoying part is having to go through the re-authentication process again, but if the message is simply an error and the functionality is working, then at least I can skip that annoying part.

As I’m already looking stupid, I may as well ask one more question . . . what file and database backup intervals would you suggest. Sorry, I don’t really understand the difference – just want to make sure that I’m backed up as well as possible cause I once somehow wiped out a site and I really don’t want to go there again . . .
