Just as a hint, I noticed the same after the update to v4.2. I am not sure why, but my stylesheet got updated and that caused my date picker to not show up anymore.
I simply re-added the following line to my style.css file (in my theme folder)
.ui-datepicker { z-index:9999!important }
Saved the file, and reloaded the web-page. Works beautifully again. Maybe it helps!
