In reply to: [WP-Members Membership Plugin] trying to use with Mail Chimp – 2 problemsgood grief… I UNMAPPED those fields and now it is sending them… going to try another field now since we want to be able to filter on registered users versus those who sign up for news via mailchimp without registering.

In reply to: [WP-Members Membership Plugin] trying to use with Mail Chimp – 2 problemsIn looking at your rocketgeek.com site it looks like I need to be a member to get MailChimp to work with WP-Members… is that correct?
Is the $59 an annual fee? As I mentioned this is a non-profit with no budget yet so I’ll have to take a collection to fund rocketgeek membership. Please let me know.
It is imperative to use MailChimp so we can send out news to seniors in this area to generate interest and keep people informed who might not visit the web site often. I am trying to avoid having people enter in their information twice… once to register and a second time to get on the distribution list. I don’t need the automatic opt-in function, just a way to get the first and last names passed into our MC list.
Thanks for your help.

In reply to: [WP-Members Membership Plugin] trying to use with Mail Chimp – 2 problemsI switched to AutoChimp. It is now sending info to MailChimp for users registering into WP-Members, but only sending the email address… not the first name or last name.
I have mapped the WP-Members fields to the MC fields. (Can’t show you because there is no attachment function.)

We need to collect street address and membership status… this is a web site to support volunteer working groups that are working on creating a Elder Village in Humboldt County, CA… we have no budget as yet so having to do this on the cheap. I don’t want our volunteers to have to reenter all the data that they already entered to register. We might be able to collect a few hundred dollars, but right now there are no funds.
Thanks,

In reply to: [MC4WP: Mailchimp for WordPress] Custom changes lost after upgradeHi… I probably shouldn’t be replying, but I see you need help… I am just getting started with WordPress myself… but I can tell you what FTP is… stands for File Transfer Protocol… you find a free FTP client (application) on the internet and get the login credentials from your host provider (where your site is located); then you log into your site and delete the plugin as mentioned above.
Or, if your host provides cpanel (an administrative dashboard that lets you create email accounts and get access to your file system on their server), you can get access to your file system that way. If none of this makes sense, call the tech support for your host provider and see if they can help. You may have to hire a tech or find a techy friend to help you with this.

In reply to: [User Access Manager] Code to force assignment of user group.I don’t know if this is any help… but I just found this comment about a problem with how UAM stores the role… https://kuchenundkakao.wordpress.com/
I was hoping to use UAM, but it appears that it is no longer being supported… the link to GM-ALEX site where he says to post bugs gave a 404 error.

In reply to: [WP-Members Membership Plugin] Any way to disallow user self registration? Thanks for getting back so soon… I unchecked it, it was still there… it disappeared when I set “Register Page” back to “Select a page”. Now it looks great… thanks so much!
FYI… the reason I had it checked is that I’m just trying to figure this out and walk through the workflow with different test scenarios… plus I’m totally new at WP so much of this stuff isn’t obvious to me.
