I noticed this problem after installing WP Mail SMTP, which I had to do to get the email feature going on my website. I would not know if that is the reason for the problem but I know that did not not install any other plug-in after that.

The four options to investigate the issue that you provided are complex. You are also asking a customer to fix a technical issue of your product themselves. I am disappointed to learn that WordPress does not have a technical support that would look for and fix the issue in the background. Nevertheless, I will give it a try.
