I also experienced this issue with my site, http://lostininternet.com. The images within the permalink pages adhere to a container size. Once I installed the ‘Pinterest Pin It Button For Images’ plug-in, the images ignored the container size. This issue only happened in Firefox, but not Chrome or Safari. I uninstalled the plugin for now and resolved the issue as well.
Thanks for your help. I’ve tried disabling the Social Meta feature, but the images never went back to normal. I’ve also deleted the image from the server, but some of the thumbnails began showing blank images and some the default, so needless to say it wasn’t a success either.
The thumbnails affected are ones used by other widgets and plugin:
- Content.ad widget with multiple suggested posts found on around the footer of the site.
- AddThis Smart Layer plugin which displays a small sliding overlay for the next post, also found on the bottom of the site.
Thanks so much in advance for your help.

In reply to: Permalink WordPress 3.4.1 Why must set to defaultI found the solution for my problem and it’s a simple fix.
Simply add the following to your functions.php and refresh your page. It should render. After it does, delete the line off the functions.php.
global $wp_rewrite; $wp_rewrite->flush_rules();
The solution can be found here: http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/5858/category-links-suddenly-started-giving-404-errors
Good luck everyone!

In reply to: Permalink WordPress 3.4.1 Why must set to defaultSpoke too soon. Downgrading the version only resolved the image issue. The pages are still showing up with “There are no posts in this category”. Apologies for sharing the wrong info.

In reply to: Permalink WordPress 3.4.1 Why must set to defaultFinally figured out the issue. My host updated my PHP to the latest version available on the server. After encountering another issue due to this upgrade (HTTP error when uploading images and not generating thumbnails), I asked my host to downgrade back to PHP Version 5.2.6. This fixed the page issue AND the image upload issue mentioned above.
Hope this helps! Best of luck, everyone.

In reply to: Permalink WordPress 3.4.1 Why must set to defaultHi brit. Still no solution. I’ve tried:
- Deactivating all plugins
- Reinstalling the most recent version of WP
- Activating a default theme (clicking the privacy policy link only refreshes the page)

In reply to: Permalink WordPress 3.4.1 Why must set to defaultThis same issue is happening to one of my site, http://21gents.com. The privacy policy page doesn’t render unless we revert the Permalink settings back to default, which isn’t an option. In addition, we deactivated all our plugins, and the issue persisted. Does anyone have a possible solution to this issue?

In reply to: Permalink and category links broken in 2.6Maybe I’ll get better luck finding a solution in this post. My issue deals with permalinks as well. My permalink setup is /%category%/%postname%/ but the problem is i can type anything under the category in the address bar and still find the page. I’ve pasted an example below.
