As for the question about the size, the entire image grid does not sit on the web page. The only thing that appears on the web page is a small button. When the user clicks on it, the image grid appears as a fly-out or a light box over the page. So, it’s not taking up real estate on the web page.
The images and the grid can’t be made too small, or people wouldn’t be able to see them very easily and the goal of this captcha is to make it easier on people while still being secure against bots. By using the fly-out and light box methods, we think that it’s a strong solution (not taking up space on the page, but still being easy to see when the user is taking the test).

There’s an option to turn on an audio captcha in addition to the picture captcha to make it more accessible for visually impared users.
