@ Colin – Welp, guess I was confusing the jargon per that post I linked to above ;). I’m so used to always talking about “Title Tags” and “Meta Descriptions” with clients, that I failed to realize “Meta Tags” includes those as well as “Meta Keyword Tags,” which I don’t think SEOs should use today! – SV
@ Colin – *Sheepish grin* …I meant to not use META KEYWORD TAGS. ๐
@ Lauren – Yes, schema is HIGHLY useful, although I don’t use markup on my website currently.
@ Colin McDermott – Please read this, as you’re confusing Title Tags & Meta Descriptions with META KEYWORD TAGS: http://www.wordstream.com/meta-tags

@ Lauren – Feel free to email me anytime at sv@seanvandenberg.com. – SV
@colin McDermott – I meant only use Title Tags and Meta Descriptions. Don’t use META TAGS, which are different. – SV
Fixed itโ disabled Yoast’s XML functionality, and installed Google XML Sitemaps. ๐
1. Make sure your title tag isn’t being truncated by Google.
2. Don’t “over-update” your title tag, and check after re-crunched.
3. Google can display “what it wants,” depending on what is searched. If you have duplicate or similar title tags, Google will show a “better” alternative.
…Nothing earth-shattering here, but a small bite for thought.

What do you mean you can’t add anchor text? …Go to the text editor; I hate the visual editor or page builder, or any other “content plugin.”

If you need help with SEO content / copywriting, there’s plenty of resources online to assist (try http://seo-hacker.com or, to keep their name up, MOZ).
I recommend no meta tags. Keywords in a heading and your slug. The rest is the great art of on-page SEO :). …Write naturally. Be informative. Keywords will work themselves in.

Breadcrumbs help users navigate your website. Just be careful not to keyword-stuff if you decide to use them. I currently don’t, because I want to limit user navigation :).

You can always hire me :). …But your page speed isn’t bad, considering. Good advice, odie2.
– Sean
Here I agree with odie2. Either Yoast or Google XML Sitemaps plugin.
– Sean
I respectfully disagree with odie2… I avoid meta tags, because I’d rather force Google to read & crunch my content entirely, without any help.

You’re welcome! I hope it really does help… I know how frustrating SEO can be. It’s paradoxicalโ seems simple, but can become annoyingly difficult & fickle…
That’s a good idea, Andrew. Why not try asking Google directly?
