I did however need to massage a few posts because of the rich text editor stuff.
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Moving A WordPress BlogWell I was halfway there HandySolo. I already did the export from his wordpress.com blog, so now to do the full install, add the plugin and do an import. Wish me luck. I’ll return soon with what happened, good or bad.

In reply to: Importing a sql backupI use putty myself.
Pending how you did your backup, it should just drop into your new database on the new server.

In reply to: Importing a sql backupphpMyAdmin has a 2 mb file size limit. If your database is bigger then that, you’ll need to import it via the command line using SSH or ask your host to do it for you.

In reply to: PHP memory_limitWell my host increased the ram size to 32 mb and it solved my issue.
It also fixed a problem I was having with my Site Map issue and Akismet.
So does this mean some plugins require a lot of resources? This only occurred after upgrading to WP 2.0.5. My plugins stayed the same.

In reply to: PHP memory_limitOtto42: I don’t think that I’m doing anything unusual with my site and WP install. My theme is well optimized and I don’t have any scripts running for features.
I do have the following 7 plugins installed and activated:
Akismet, Feedburner Feed Replacement, Fold Page List, Google Sitemaps, SRG Clean Archives, WordPress 2.0.5 Tuneup, WP-ContactForm.
The only thing new to my list in a long while is the tuneup plugin.
To the best of my knowledge, the plugins I have running are not resource hogs. If one is, I’d like to know.

In reply to: PHP memory_limitOk, thanks for the reply HandySolo. I’ll tell them to go for it and once it’s done (probably within 24 hours) I’ll report back and either close the post or add more to it.

In reply to: How does one track the number of feed subscribers?CurtMonash: There is more to tracking the number of subscribers then just using Feed Burner.
I have never experienced any downside to using Feed Burner. It handles tracking subscribers via rss, email, etc giving you all kinds of stats.
I’m curious… did you even look at the guide that I linked to?
After viewing your website there is a wealth of information in the guide that will help with your site for all kinds of tracking and metrics.

In reply to: Google doesn’t see my blog.fokjulle: you add the meta keywords and description into your header file just below your title tag.
You’d have something like this:
<meta name=”description” content=”Site Description Here” />
<meta name=”keywords” content=”Keywords Here” />Good luck.
