Thanks for the advice, it was the robots-meta plugin.
The problem occurs when the option “disable the date based archive” is checked in the robots-meta settings.
When unchecked, the select form works and I can sort by years/months in the media library.
Yes I’ve tested the solutions of this FAQ. My file is encoded in ANSI, and no extra spaces in wp-config.php near the opening and ending php tags.
Still have the problem.

I understand the file to inspect is media.php, but there are no extra white spaces in it. (note that there is no “php?>” at the end of the file)
I’ve never modified the file media.php since the installation of wordpress, so why could it be the problem ? (sorry for my bad english)
