In reply to: Temp URL and WP admin accessThe domain name is ScottNorris.com. That is the name of the subfolder. My Temporary URL is http://IPAddress/~CPanelUsername/ScottNorris.com. Since I have professed to being new at this I will confirm that IPaddress and Cpaneluser naees as used above are variables for the actual values. IE in the actual url they contain the real IP address (XX.XX.XXX.XXX) and my real Cpanel userID.
The temp url is in the Home and siteurl rows of the option table for the database for this domain
Is that what you mean?

In reply to: Temp URL and WP admin accessI am new to this but I believe it is in a subfolder.
As I mentioned, I already have one WP site installed on this server. The WP-Config.php file for that site is located at /public_html/wp-config.php
The WP-Config.php file for the site in question is located at
/public_html/AddonDomainName/wp-config.php

In reply to: Temp URL and WP admin accessthanks esmi. I appologize for being so dense on this. I did (or thought I did) follow the instructions provided. I used the phpMyAdmin method (4th option listed for changing url). I didn’t do anything else.
A few more specifics that may help..
I do have another WP site on the same server that is working fine. I created an addon domain for my second site. The addon domain is a non-WP site that is still up and running on a different server and I would like to keep it that way until my new site is created.
After creating the addon domain, I installed WP and then changed the domain name as described in the previous post. I have no access to my WP admin panel
Addon domain: addondomain.com
temp url: serverIPaddress/~serverCpanelUserName/addondomain.com (this was the format prescribed by HostGator (who host my new WP site)thanks
