Thanks! Here’s the update.
I downloaded the wp staging plugin you suggested and cloned the site. I then disabled most of the plugins and discovered that the issue was resolved.
I activated the plugins one by one until I found that it was Essential Real Estate plugin that was causing the distortion.
As I want to continue using the plugin, what’s your suggestion?

I am yet to host it on a public domain. It’s currently on localhost. So no url. I’ll try and upload it to a domain so you can see
There are no error messages, just the dropdown display does not display wide to show all the characters . Without the script I added in the additional css, the whole checkout page looked really messed up
