In reply to: Theme: Mantra Limited Sidebar CapacityKurt,
The theme does permit widgets in the footer area so that is where I will put the additional widgets. Would have liked to put them in the sidebar but it seems that is not going to be possible given my lack of CSS/PHP coding. Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Theme: Mantra Limited Sidebar CapacityThanks for the reply Kurt. Frankly I am not up to speed on CSS coding. I understood very little of what was in the page you linked me to.
When you are working in the Mantra theme dashboard and then click on Appearance/Widgets function you are shown all the widgets that are available to you. On the right side of that screen in other themes I use I often get the option of dropping multiple widgets on a sidebar. Howeever with the Mantra theme I am only given the choice of dropping up to two widgets on Sidebar #1 and up to two widgets on Sidebar #2. I have defined the theme to only use one sidebar (need all the width in the main column I can get) therefore I am limited by the way Mantra lays out the Widgets function in the dashboard to only two widgets in my sidebar area. I am looking for a way to get around this shortcoming in the dashboard. I have looked at various php templates in the Appearance/Editor function trying to find a way to increase the number of widgets allowed in the sidebar #1 without success.
Ok. I figured it out. I had to edit the SLIDESHOW image in Table VI. Thanks for the help Karesansui.
It’s too bad I cannot upload an image to this forum. I could grab the screen and show you what I mean. This is truly where one photo would be worth a thousand words. I will try to clarify.
Under MANAGE PHOTOS (Photo Albums/Album Admin/galaxies/Edit Album Information) I have a photo. On the left side of the Manage Photos window near the bottom of the listing for the photo there is a location for me to put a “link url:”. I put the link for the very large image which I want to be displayed when someone links on the image displayed at:
http://www.sipe.com/jupiterridge/image-gallery-2/?wppa-album=1&wppa-photo=12&wppa-occur=1
Below the Link URL entry window is a entry window called “Link Title:”
Then immediately below that is a line of instruction saying “If you want this link to be used, check “PS Overule” checkbox in Table VI of the Photo Albums -> Settings admin page”
I have looked at that location and the options are so plentiful that I do not know where to begin to accomplish what ought to be a pretty straightforward task, namely to cause the image referenced on the Manage Photos display to link to the image I have referenced in the Link URL window for the image in question. Does that help?

In reply to: Editing content in COMMENTS WidgetHi Moshu,
I am using Psimple 1.0 theme. In the list of avaiable widgets in that theme is one called RECENT COMMENTS. I don’t know how to identify the widget any further than that. Are there other widgets out there that will read the Comments data and properly display a list of comments in the sidebar as used in the Psimple 1.0 theme?

In reply to: Simple Syntax QuestionYes, I “mispoke”. I DID mean a Page, not a Post. Thank you for your help.

In reply to: Standalone PageWhile it is true that the theme does not automatically populate menu items on the top, it DOES automatically populate Pages and Post Listings in the sidbars. Here is my application of the CUTLINE 3-column theme: slsailing.com
One reason I chose CUTLINE was for the reason it didn’t automatically make Menu tabs for each and every page. Once I learn how to create a PAGE that DOESN’T automatically make a top menu tab I might look at using a different theme.
Interesting that apparently this theme doesn’t adhere to standards since it’s the #2 theme on the 10 Most Downloaded Themes list (http://themes.wordpress.net/columns/3-columns/4415/cutline-3-column-split-11/)
I still need help figuring out how to make a page that does not populate the Page sidebar. Thanks for the input.

In reply to: Standalone PageThanks for the reply Michael. I have no idea where to find the “wp_list pages” tag so that I might edit it. I have searched the files associated with Cutline code and do not find “wp_list pages”. Can direct me?
