I also had this issue. Setting update/changed on update without warning.
To correct it I had to enable:
Dashboard > UM > Settings > Appearance > Profile Menu > ‘Enable profile menu’.
I had the same problem. I managed to work around it by setting the lightbox setting to Colorbox (and tick the box below to include the Colorbox library).
