Really google has not updated its guidelines, it’s strange, it’s been a while since the old ping url does not work
Actually the old Ping URL redirects to the current one when you open it, notice that when you open the PING link:
http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ping?sitemap=
It does a redirect to the same link only by putting HTTPS, so yoast should fix the link by adding the HTTPS in the URL
I noticed that there are two links that ping to Google and are working. Are they:
https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ping?sitemap=https://www.example.org/post-sitemap.xml
and
https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/ping?sitemap=https://www.example.org/post-sitemap.xml
Here are two URLs that ping Google, the first one is used by Yoast but HTTPS needs to be added to your URL to get back to work
Yoast. Please correct adding the HTTPS in the URL

Complementing….
With the code update to what I sent it.
Now users who publish new content, on any website whatsoever, the same irar see indexed instantly. Post something new, indexed the same minute, exactly 🙂If remain old code that no longer works and I have reported, new content posted will take well over 3 days to appear on Google, because the Ping that Yoast points are to URLs that are no longer working.
