I was able to resolve my problem since I posted on this thread. First, I made sure it wasn’t theme-related by activating a theme such as twenty-twelve. The problem was still there. Then, I deactivated my plug-ins, one at a time, until I found the culprit.
There was a plug-in that was causing the problem. Hope this helps!
I’m having the same problem as moleonster… unable to insert images, media, etc., from the media library. it started a few weeks ago, and I have no idea why. The problem is with one of my WP sites. I’m hoping someone has some suggestions.

Thank you for your email. For the edification of others, I eliminated the problem by reinstalling the child theme folder which included copied files from my parent theme. I was then able to sign in and select the parent theme. I then deleted the child theme folder from WP-admin. This was a big lesson for me regarding issues and best practices re: customizing commercial themes.
