Change File Permissions: You must chmod the .htaccess file to 666 to edit it with the WordPress template editor, but this is not recommended, since if you do that, any user of your blog, who can edit templates will be able to edit it. You can change the permissions to 660 to make it server-writable, which again will have the same limitation.
…but I was skeptical because it says it’s “not recommended”. Is this the only solution to my problem moshu?

Listen…I went into:
Customize Permalink Structure…
selected “Date and name based”.
Is there something else I need to do/modify? I already read the section on Permalinks and couldn’t find the answer that’s why I’m seeking help in the forum. Is there something with the .htacess file I need to modify? If anyone knows exactly what’s wrong I would appreciate your assistance. Thank you.
