In reply to: [Custom Login Page Customizer - Login Designer] Can’t access Login DesignerHey @stegosource!
I just pushed v1.1.3, which includes a template rewrite that enables the Customizer’s Login Designer page to resolve properly with aggressive security suites plugins activated.
I tested it with the All in One Security plugin you referred and the plugin seems to be resolving properly. Do you mind confirming on your end when you get a chance? Thanks!

In reply to: [Custom Login Page Customizer - Login Designer] Feature Request: Change LogoHey Nathan! If you click on the default WordPress logo, it should pull up a logo uploader within the Customizer. 👍
Thanks for the kudos!
Indeed! That’s on the roadmap!

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Bravo to the Gutenberg team!Sure @karmatosed,
I’ve been a WordPress publisher for some time now, and like most developers/seasoned WordPress-ers, I relied only on the code editor – not the visual editor. That’s not because working in the visual editor was an awful experience, but because the code editor was comfortable and “just works”. Gutenberg will impart that same sort of confidence, but for every single user who adopts it.
I’ve been really diving into block development and I’m confident that Gutenberg will fundamentally change WordPress in such a good fashion. After developing blocks and experimenting in Gutenberg pretty heavily over the last couple of months, writing posts the “classic” way feels akin to typing with one hand tied behind your back… maybe even both!
Plus, whenever I’m using the classic editor, I find myself consistently hovering for that little (+) icon to add another header or the like…
Gutenberg is an exciting change, and now that the editor is just around the corner – it’s more apparent than ever how necessary this change is.

In reply to: [Custom Login Page Customizer - Login Designer] Very good optionHey @ciberdom,
Just following up here again. Do you have any constructive feedback that I could use to help push this to a 5 star plugin for you? I take whatever you have!
I appreciate it Peter! Thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt. If you ever need anything, feel free to reach out!
Have a great day!
Hi Peter, I’m simply not seeing that same behavior (also updated on my own sites, though I kept the badge on).
Did you perhaps go the Customizer at any time in between the update and when you saw the badge?
I just ran a number of tests and confirmed that the option is not initially set without a saved Customizer instance.
I’m not sure if I’m following you 100% now.
Were you possibly mistaken about the badge being auto-set and reacted as such?
Hi @petervandoorn,
You actually don’t have to. The option does not set (and will not display) if you’ve just updated to the latest version of the plugin. I wouldn’t force a badge to display on every site that has deployed Login Designer.
Your choice is only saved when you open the Customizer and hit “Publish”.

I’m sorry you feel that way Peter. You’re very welcome to your own opinion and thoughts. I do have a few initial concerns though:
The badge is not initially activated for existing installs. You have to go into the Customizer for the option to be recorded, saved and then output (if it remains on). If anything but that happened, I’d gladly investigate and help figure out what happened.
On the other hand, maybe you’re right about the option not being default at all. Though opening a productive dialogue doesn’t typically start with calling the other party arrogant. We’re human behind each of our screens and we deserve to give each other due respect. 🤜🤛
This sort of feedback is better suited as a support ticket/request – to explore the decision, the effects of that decision, your thoughts, my thoughts, any bugs, and a possible solution. That’s much more productive and open than a hostage rating.
Anyhow, you’ve made your case – and after some consideration – I think you may be right. Even though 9.5/10 of plugins/apps display opt-out “Powered by” badges, maybe this is a bit more personal. Or, maybe the fact that it wasn’t included since day one is making feel this way?
Either way, I don’t want to have put all this effort into building a really neat login customizer that actually does its job well – just to have a painful 2 star review tossed at it for something that doesn’t even affect the actual premise of the plugin.
I’ll have a minor update pushed shortly with the default value set to off.
Thanks for your feedback Peter.
