Yes, sorry, I meant to come back and update. It turned out that it was a plug-in. I must have forgotten to flush the cache after I deactivated everything.
FWIW, it was the
WEN’s Responsive Column Layout Shortcodes plug in, which must have become a problem after a WP update or plug in update.Thanks!

@themesumo – I’m using Live Composer for the main page. Honestly, I wonder if a different theme would serve me better. But I’ve been a big chicken about the idea of changing. It seems like a LOT of work!

That along with the plug in changing the size is *so* close (i’ll probably change the size to be a bit bigger, but not as large as the default). Any ideas of a way to get rid of the grey along the top? Maybe I should use CSS to change the size of featured images, rather than the plug in?

I could probably live with it if I could get rid of all the grey space.
