In reply to: [WordPress MU Domain Mapping] mapping subdomain instead of domainHi Ron,
Thanks for your quick answer! 🙂
Right now I am using WPMUDEV Domain Mapping plugin. In their tutorial, they are saying the only way someone can map a domain is by having that domain parked.
I have a VPS + cPanel/WHM and I want to start a WP Multisite network on the website example.com.
An user opens his blog on my network, user1.example.com.
He registers the domain groovysite.com and wants to map it to user1.example.com. The only way it can be done is if the domain is parked in my account, as WHM owner. If I create an account for my client on cPanel, I need to add his domain. And if I add his domain, he can’t park it and therefore he can’t map it.Does your plugin allows mapping domains which are not parked?
Thanks again 🙂

In reply to: Subdomain or Subfolder installationyou should use subdomain installation and add the * wildcard to your DNS settings.
If you use cPanel, you can create a subdomain *.domain.com and it will work.
You can use WHMCS and Domain Mapping Plugin to allow users to register their own domain name (like WordPress.com does).
