It appears that Freeservers does not send confirmation for email submissions. I am unfortunately unable to reach their 1-800 number from my location.
I have also just installed WordPress 2.0.4 on Freeservers at littlebee.gq.nu/cgi/wp, and have forwarded a request to the administrators to see what they can do about this error, to try and bring closure to this thread.
As of October 2, 2006, Freeservers still offers WordPress 1.2 as a one-click blogging solution, although newer versions can easily be added manually — I added 2.0.4 via FTP with no errors. Everything works in terms of editing the blog, giving the illusion that all is hunky-dorey (or indeed, even A-O-K!), but the actual site just won’t display.
