Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Lost installationI’ve found out what happened. I accidentally deleted the site URL in options while I was configuring the installation.
A suggestion for future releases would be to remind users that this is a vital piece of information, or to pop up a warning if it is left blank.
Thanks for the help and suggestions, greatly appreciated.

In reply to: Lost installationThis is a PS to my previous post. I’m now certain that the problem is somewhere in the MySQL blog database, having restored a backup I made halfway through the day.
It does worry me that this can happen during what is normal usage.

In reply to: Lost installationUnfortunately I’ve just spent many hours configuring my blog and posting to it, so this isn’t an option. And I’d be reluctant to do it without knowing why the loss happened in the first place, as it could happen again.

In reply to: Lost installationThanks for the reply. I’ve now checked wp-config and the SQL tables, but they’re both using the same prefix (wp_).

In reply to: Rich editor html popup emptyI’m running Firefox 1.5.0.6 and WordPress 2.0.4 under Windows XP Professional.
Making a new post is OK and I can paste in html code after pressing the ‘html’ button on the editor.
But as soon as I press ‘html’ to edit the post, I get the blank page problem.
IE and Opera don’t have this problem – everything works as specified with these browsers.
Now with the increasing popularity of Firefox more and more bloggers are going to hit this problem, so perhaps the excellent people at WordPress could speak to the excellent people at Firefox to identify and resolve the problem!

In reply to: CSS links in post/page HTMLYes, that’s the problem. CSS works fine when the stylesheet is included as a block in every page. Looks like I’ll just have to live with this, but it might be something the developers could include in a future release.
